In addition to using Instagram Stories and the link in your bio, here are some additional ideas for placing affiliate links within Instagram:

  • Pin posts with affiliate links: Pin posts with affiliate links at the top of your feed for better visibility.
  • Pin stories as highlights: Pin stories with affiliate links as a GetYourGuide highlight. This allows your audience to access these stories at any time, rather than being limited to a 24-hour period.
  • Linktree or other link collections: Include affiliate links in your Linktree or other link collections. Ensure the links in the Linktree have a clear structure and don’t overlap with other brands or campaigns.
    • Pro tip: Include "How to Guides" in your Linktree. Help your audience plan their trip with affiliate links for added value.

You can promote your affiliate links on various platforms beyond Instagram. Consider where your audience is most active and whether it makes sense to expand to additional platforms to increase your reach.

  • Your travel blog or website:
Blog posts are highly effective for conversions. Your audience is already searching for trip information and is ready to purchase. Consider creating articles for your best-performing destinations and linking these articles across your social media (stories, reels).
  • YouTube long-form content:
Instagram is great for showcasing your experiences in real-time, while YouTube is perfect for post-travel videos. Consider creating long-form content on YouTube and experimenting with YouTube Shorts as well.
  • TikTok:
With its engaging algorithm, short-form content, and creative tools, TikTok prioritizes discovery, community, and trend-driven experiences over follower-based interactions. Consider experimenting with TikTok to reach a broader audience.
  • Other platforms:
Promote your affiliate links anywhere you can place a link, such as Pinterest, email lists, newsletters, e-books, and more.

  • Build anticipation and hype
Plan ahead to prime your audience and build excitement around an upcoming experience with GetYourGuide. Create stories that generate mystery, buzz, and anticipation before the experience.
  • Connect with everyday life
Naturally integrate content related to your day-to-day life. This makes your promotions feel more authentic and relatable.
  • Create a sense of urgency
Encourage immediate action by creating a sense of urgency. For example, you can say, “Go now as it is the best time of the year to...”.

icons8-4-64.pngIntroduce GetYourGuide to build brand awareness

  • If your audience is aware of GetYourGuide but doesn't fully understand what it is or how to use it, explain why they should trust the brand. A personal introduction is key to higher conversions.
  • Highlight why you love the experience (your audience wants to feel what you felt) and help your audience solve their problems, examples:
    • What are my favorite highlights of this experience?
    • Why should my audience buy this experience online?
    • Why should my audience buy from GetYourGuide?

icons8-5-64.pngLink to the right pages on GetYourGuide

GetYourGuide offers a variety of pages you can link to. While Sponsored Experience pages typically have higher conversion intent, you can choose others that better fit your content and audience. Here are a few examples:

  • Homepage
For a link in your bio, it's best to use a more generic link to our homepage.

  • Destination page
For a post discussing a specific location, link directly to the destination page to offer your audience all the options from that category.

  • Search results page
For a blog article or post covering a range of experiences, link to a search results page. This will provide your audience with multiple experiences to choose from within a category.

  • Point of interest
If you're sharing recommendations on a specific point of interest, link directly to the page referring to it.
