ACCOUNT SET-UP

How do I set up a Lumanu account?

Simply sign up using the same email address for a seamless tool setup. Completing the entire account setup is necessary to receive payments. Lumanu will be unable to process your payment without it. Please ensure all fields and tax information are filled out accurately to avoid delays. Lumanu will send you weekly reminder emails until your setup is complete!

Can I use PayPal instead?

Yes, you can connect PayPal to Lumanu. Please follow the instructions provided here.


Can I connect multiple email addresses to my Lumanu account?

Currently, Lumanu accounts are associated with a single email address for security reasons. However, if you wish to receive payments through another email address while maintaining your existing account, you can add it as an Organization Identifier. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your Lumanu account.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Organizations' and scroll down to 'ORGANIZATION IDENTIFIERS' (refer to the screenshot below).
  3. Click on 'Add' and enter the additional email address (not the one already linked to your account).
  4. Once completed, any payments sent to either email address will be directed to your existing Lumanu account."


Can't I associate my phone number with my Lumanu account? What should I do

Lumanu’s list of supported countries is regularly updated, and we invite you to reach out to them if your country isn't currently listed— Lumanu will explore what can be supported on a case-by-case basis. Lumanu’s development team has recently addressed this topic and is actively working on enabling support for additional countries.


 

TAX FORM

Why do I need to fill out the tax form?

The tax form is mandatory by law and essential for setting up your account. While it may seem time-consuming initially, completing it ensures smooth payment processing in future cycles. Investing time now will save you time later. Please take a moment to complete the form. If you need help, reach out to vendors@lumanu.com.


There are so many tax forms. Can you explain which one should I fill in?

Please review the options below and choose the appropriate form accordingly.

USA-based creator

If you're a:

  • U.S. citizen
  • resident alien individual
  • U.S. businesses
  • other U.S. person

use Form W-9. Access it through your Lumanu Dashboard via Settings > Taxes.

Please note: If all information matches (based on whether you're an individual or a business and the corresponding tax information), you'll be verified immediately. However, if manual verification is required— for instance, if the provided information needs clarification or correction or does not match— this process can take between 24 to 72 hours. The responsiveness of creators in providing the requested information could also affect this timeline.

 

International creators

  • If you're an international vendor and not considered a business, use Form W-8BEN. Find it here, along with instructions.
  • If you're NOT an individual, such as a business entity or corporation, use Form W-8BEN-E. Find it here, along with instructions.

Once completed, email the form to Lumanu (vendors@lumanu.com), and they'll process it for you.

It’s important to note that all tax forms can be completed digitally. You can download, fill, and sign forms directly on your devices using the fillable forms provided through the links below.


 

PAYMENT

How do I get paid in Lumanu?

  1. After creating an account, you’ll be added to Lumanu as an approved partner by GetYourGuide.
  2. Then, you’ll receive an email notification once the payout is uploaded and approved by GetYourGuide.
  3. You’ll receive a second email notification once you have been paid. All you have to do is watch the payment land in your account!

The payment is set up to be paid in USD. Can I be paid in another currency?

The default currency of Lumanu is USD, but you can withdraw it in your preferred currency (EUR, GBP, and more).


Generally, how long does it take for me to get paid?

Please note that the payment process involves several steps which may take some time to complete. Initially, GetYourGuide will transfer the payment to Lumanu, a process that typically takes 4-6 weeks. After this transfer is finalized, your payment can then be processed and deposited into your account. This entire process may therefore take from 1 month to 1.5 months to complete.

Are there any fees for international payments I should be aware of in advance?

When making international payments through Lumanu, it's important to consider potential fees associated with different payment methods:

  • PayPal Account: If you choose to link a PayPal account, there is a fee of 2.9% for the transaction, and payments are sent in USD. Additionally, PayPal offers the option to convert currency at their exchange rate to your preferred currency.
  • International Bank Account (Alternative Currency): Linking an international bank account in currencies such as EUR, GBP, AUD, JPY, etc., incurs a conversion fee of approximately 0.5%, followed by a mid-market exchange rate. Typically, this fee is lower than 5%. Lumanu utilizes Wise for transferring funds in this scenario.
  • SWIFT Bank Account (USD): If you link a SWIFT bank account in USD, there is a fee of approximately $12 for domestic transfers and $30 for international transfers, depending on the bank and location. These payments are routed via the SWIFT network, which imposes these fees akin to a wire transfer. Lumanu processes these payments through Wise.
  • Bank Account through Wise: If you have a bank account through Wise, provided by Community Federal Savings Bank, JPM Chase, or Barclays, you may incur lower fees, often even free of charge. You can link these accounts in your Lumanu dashboard just like a regular bank account.
